Jazzin For a Cure:

(this is a joint performance with Dublin HS, Dougherty Valley HS and Wells MS) 

The event is at the Shannon Center in Dublin and begins at 6:30pm. Students need to arrive by 6:15pm.  Proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society

Spring Concert #1 – 7pm Foothill MP Room

Come out to PUSD's Annual District Band Concert Tuesday April 24th.  Foothill's Wind Ensemble will be performing John Mackey's exciting work Strange Humors in addition to a wonderful Arrangement of Ara Batur (arranged by Foothill class of '97 grad David Vickerman).  The concert is at 7pm at Harvest Park Middle School

 

Welcome back from Spring Break everyone! I hope you all had a restful week and got to catch up on family time. We had a great week and took a trip to the Exploratorium and spent some much needed time at home.

I would like to congratulate our winter guard and percussion for outstanding winter seasons! Both groups represented Foothill well and continue to be among the top groups in the state!

Upcoming events:

• April 21st is our April Dine Out at Mountain Mikes Pizza. Visit www.foothillmusic.org for the flyer and information (previous email also sent by Terry Abbey)

• Please join us on Tuesday April 24th for the PUSD district band concert. The wind ensemble will be performing along with Amador Wind Ensemble and Middle Schools. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for students/children. Please see the attached document for volunteer and donation opportunities.

• Saturday April 28th Our Jazz Ensemble “A” and Trad band will be performing at the Denim and Diamonds Event at the veterans center on Main Street. Call time for Jazz Groups is 6:30 and they will be done by 9pm. (see information below about the event)

• Wednesday May 2nd is our last General Booster Meeting of the school year. Please try to attend this meeting, as we will be having elections for board members of next year. I would love to see more new faces on our board or taking advantage of volunteer opportunities.

Royal Blue Denim & Diamonds will be held Saturday, April 28 from 7 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial Building, 301 Main St., in beautiful town Pleasanton. Be sure to mark your calendars for an evening of fun and friendship. Royal Blue Denim & Diamonds will be a casual mix-and-mingle event with plenty of scrumptious appetizers, plus cocktails and dancing. The event will feature an online auction that will be open for bidding the week leading up to the big night. Foothill’s three major booster groups -- Academic & Activities Booster Club (AABC), Foothill Athletic Boosters and Foothill Band Boosters, host the event.
 

Download and print the scales and audition pieces needed for your instrument Wind Ensemble Auditions. Auditions will be held the week of May 14-17.
