The Foothill Dynasty
The Foothill High
School Marching Band is one of the most successful high school bands in the
state of California. In the past 32 years, the band has won nearly
1,000 Sweepstakes awards and 1st place trophies. We also have the
prestigious honor of representing Northern California five times in the
Pasadena Tournament of Roses Parade. No other Northern California band
holds this honor. Other performances include the Fiesta Bowl
in January 2005, the Portland Rose Festival, Hawaii Music Festival, and the Hyack Festival in Vancouver, B.C.
Under the
direction of Bob Moorefield, we feature, in addition to our
marching band and color guard, two jazz bands, winter percussion and guard,
wind ensemble, symphonic band, and concert band. |

Pancake Breakfast Details
posted! Don't miss it!
This year's important fundraiser will be held on
Monday, Sept 1st (Labor Day) at Foothill's Multi-purpose room from
7:00am until 11:00am. Cost is $7 per person ($4 for kids), and
includes pancakes, eggs, sausage, fresh fruit, coffee, and juice.

There will be
a brief meeting for the 2008 Band Review Committee leads and assistants
on Wednesday, August 27th in Mr. Galdeira's room (across from the Band
Room). We are looking for more people to be committee leads and
shadows (assistants) for the current leads who will be leaving after
this year. Please come if you are interested in helping run our
biggest fundraiser of the year. If you cannot attend, but are
interested in helping, please contact Bob Babb at

excellent PR for the band! We need 25 ushers for the
Scottish Games on Sun, Aug 31. We work, they pay us! Can be
used as community service hours too! If interested, please contact

Changes to the used print
cartridge and cell phone recycling program - Ellen Holmgren,
who so diligently and successfully ran this program has passed the torch
on to Diane Lanning. Starting now, please drop your used items off
at Diane's house. Please contact Diane at
recyclingmeanscash@foothillband.org to obtain her
address. Once school starts, you may drop off in the Band Room
(except large quantities, which should still be dropped off at Diane's
house). Note, there is a change to the program this year:
Cartridge World will only accept BRAND name cartridges (HP, Dell, Canon,
etc.). Over the past 4 years, the Band has made between $3,000
and $5,000 per year on this program, so please continue to donate those
used cartridges and cell phones. |

A recording of the 2008 Spring Concert is available
on DVD! The first DVD
includes all the songs from the Spring Concert on 5/21/08 at Bankhead
Theater. The second bonus CD contains material from the recent
Victoria Days band trip:
